Been lazy and never got around to finishing Jim Sillars book after buying it six weeks ago.
I did finish it last night. In overall terms it’s an excellent primer for the issues facing Scotland. It’s clear and constructed well, showing a joined up thinking and certainly answering all of the main issues
It advocates a socialist approach and I don’t necessarily think Jim’s approach of establishing new ministries, departments, quangos and bodies is something I wholly agree with. It’s a return to a larger government and a heavier touch on all our lives.
That said, there’s enormous issues covered in a logical structured way. It’s focused my thoughts on independence as well as opening my eyes to issues.
I’d completely recommend reading the book and it will be influential on the Indyref debate and on the debate as to where the Labour Party in Scotland should be.
