I read things like this and wonder just how many short haul flights are sensible.
If, after our no vote, Heathrow is to be Scotland’s hub, then is that the right thing to do, shuttles to and from there from Edinburgh and Glasgow?
The right thing to do is to cut carbon footprints wherever we can and short haul flying isn’t a sustainable thing.
The link south to ought to be rail and ideally high speed to minimise short flights. It’s not there and won’t be for some time.
The union can’t be used to solicit support for an already over busy airport in an already economically busy area to the detriment of Scotland.
Direct flights are needed in to Scotland with suitable links to the south as necessary.
Anyway that’ll do.
